As a creative writing tutor I also run three distant learning courses through the Workers' Educational Association (WEA). These courses are accredited by the Open College Network (OCN) and each course is worth 12 credits, at levels 1, 2 or 3, which can be used towards entry to Higher Education.

The courses are flexible in that they can begin at any time during the year and are designed to run for approximately 30 weeks.

Full fee £154.00 plus accreditation of £23.10 per course.

Concessionary Registration Fee: £15.00 plus accreditation £23.10 per course

The Write Time Programme

Write Away Stage I

A foundation course in creative writing, looking at the skills necessary to write fiction; creating and developing characters; exploring genres and markets open to writers; creating a step outline and developing this to end the course with a piece of work in progress.

 

Write Away Stage 2

This course builds on the story structure skills acquired in Stage 1, focusing on developing work to a standard suitable for submission to literary agents or publishers.

 

Write Up

This course is designed for writers wishing to develop skills within the areas of biography and autobiography.
